You get points for spelling his name correctly, but he was still off the board six rounds ago.
If you guys expect us to pick guys who aren't already picked and follow your spread sheets, I suggest you spell names correctly. I didn't find Jeff on either list because his name is misspelled. Same with Stephen Strasberg FYI S-Man.

18.1 Brian Christopher Fuentes (T-Rex), Relief Pitcher, Oakland Athletics

Here's hoping this guy isn't picked either.
Just so you know, the spreadsheets that sman and I have mad kept are our gift to the league. If you don't like them you don't have to use them. The first few years we did this we only used the message board. Last year we were nice enough to devote our free time to sharing these neatly organized document that we just as well could keep private.

Your sense of entitlement is really offputting. Feel free to create a spreadsheet of your own where everyone's name is spelled correctly.

People. It's not rocket science. I see Jeff Francoeur's name misspelled more often than not. Same with Strasburg. When you control-F on the spreadsheet, use the first name instead. You might have a few hits to look through, but it will take you about 20 seconds longer.

I put Jeff F. on S-Man's sheet, directly copying the name as it was spelled on the board, so sorry for not double-checking the spelling myself. But seriously, you didn't think to search the spreadsheet for "Jeff" after "Francouereuere" returned no results?

C'mon, if you have an inkling that the player you're about to pick is a steal on the scale of 120 picks, you should probably spend a little while longer cruising the sheet (especially if they're not named something like Joe Smith).

I am seriously sorry, though, that a bunch of guys jumped in after your Francoeur pick and hope that no one that was taken before you could re-pick was anyone you would have preferred over Fuentes.

Sorry if it came across like that. I would have liked Jason Bourgeios, seeing as how I was picking another outfielder and I was just sort of peeved. Do not think at all that I am ungrateful for the lists. I really appreciate the time and effort put into them.

It's just a bummer when you don't get your guy and because of a mistake, you see another guy you would have wanted fall off the list.

Why are you sorry? The rules are clearly stated that if a player can't get his pick in before his 6 hour window is closed, or after a pick is made, regardless of whether or not that player is in fact available, then the next team is up.

We are just playing by the rules.

I think we'll look back at the end of the year and laugh at the fact that someone was actually bummed to get scooped on Jason Bourgeois. BOURGEOIS. FRANCOEUR. DID NO ONE ELSE TAKE FRENCH?

Thank you for your neatly organized documents that help decipher who's pick it is after the 30 or so trades. It really helps. We won't question you again, I'm sorry.

No, PFOP got jumped because he took a player who had already been drafted, which he attributed to not being able to find him on the sheet (partly my fault, partly the fault of a few others, partly his for not searching thoroughly). Passing in that situation is also within the rules, though it's a much grayer area.

Much like wsuguay, I've been copying and pasting the difficult to spell names from the message board to the spreadsheet. Pretty sure I did that with Strasburg etc. I guess I was under the impression that if someone makes a pick, he looks up the name (if needed) and spells it properly. As wsuguay mentioned, the spreadsheet is helpful guide for keeping track of the picks but it is not perfect. If you would would like to help keep it updated, and make sure all names are spelled correctly then by all means go ahead. If nothing else, when making your pick, at least spell the name of the player correctly on the message board.

Fact. I was going to make a stink about it, but then I remembered that the Philly boys hate me enough as it is. I didn't want to give them another reason. I'm pretty happy with my full tilt Fuentas pick. I also note that I was in a rush this morning because I was dropping a friend off at the airport and getting breakfast, so I knew I wasn't going to be home in a while. I did not research enough.

As I said originally ("regardless of whether or not that player is in fact available"), there is no gray area with passing a team if he drafts someone who has already been drafted, regardless of why he took said player. It's been in the rules since we started this Winter League, and will continue to be.

And just for the record, this applies to everyone (see Mendoza's currently lapsed pick).
