Im just curious, why did you pick up a 3rd closer if you still don't have a catcher or a complete outfield?
Is this simply because you had your eye on Farnsworth and you couldn't resist?
Are you confident you can still get decent outfielders and catcher?

If all the above are true then you make me feel better about my decisions thus far...
Just wanted to re-file this for you, in the appropriate thread.

Let's keep the draft thread clean, people.

Thanks! I couldn't pass him up as I needed a 3rd baseman and he was tracking to be a stud this year.

If that rotoworld report would have come out a day earlier, he may have been on my team. The report I got was this:

Jon Heyman of CBSports.com reports that Hiroki Kuroda is seeking a salary in the range of $13-14 million.
Heyman also hears that some teams believe he could return to Japan to pitch for the Hiroshima Carp. Kuroda, who turns 37 in February, earned a $12 million salary last season while posting a 3.07 ERA and 161/49 K/BB ratio in 202 innings. The Red Sox are among the teams who have expressed interest. With pick 10.15, Scrantonicity selects: Coco Crisp, OF, OAK

What Brandon posted as being my 16.2 is actually 15.11...Brandon: we overlooked the fact that this pick was traded up with Posey. So the pick you are getting there is actually 11 spots higher Than we agreed to (and it turns out a pick before the one you are swapping to me in return (15.12). To account for this, I propose that you give me pick 21.12 instead of 22.9. I then will give you pick 19.19 instead of 20.2. bumping you up to pick before me in the 19th round.
Let me know.

Let me get this straight. Essentially what happened here was "I already traded that pick away. So let's make the trade more complicated and swap meaningless picks later in the draft so that this trade works."

This is getting ridiculous. Can we cap pick swaps during the draft at 2 or 3 next year? Vote?

So can someone please explain what's going on. Was the last pick legal? Who the heck is on the clock? What are the next steps here, instead of using the draft board to propose another trade can someone simply state who is up and any trades can be worked out via PM aqnd posted once they're done.

As long as those who are swaping the picks are paying attention to the draft when their acquired picks pop up, then I fail to see why anyone would take issue with draft pick deals. Particularly when the deals involve owners like Amato and I, who clearly are watching the draft closely and getting our picks in quicker than most. Bottomline- if the trades are annoying you, don't pay them any mind. Just look the other way.

Freeze, this is how the deals are normally reflected. It's just that an error was made in this one particular deal, and Amato and I had to account for it. The deal is now complete, the pick has been made, and the draft continues.

First of all- let's please not post anything other than picks on the draft board.

Second, Josh- why are you being such a ball buster here? My confusion on the current pick had everything to do with the mispicks directly in front of me, and nothing to do with Amato's trade with me. It could have happened to anyone, and the glaring error was corrected.

It was my understanding that ball busting was part of the rules we all agreed on before the draft started...or should we reopen that discussion too? Am I right Davis?!?!?!

how is this making your life anymore difficult? you still pick when you pick. is it because you don't like seeing an additional post on the message board? sorry to inconvenience you so. I am personally not a fan of 90% of the lame pictures and attempts at witticisms that are posted with people's picks, but I don't think the inconvenience of seeing something you deem annoying is enough to vote to ban it.

You have the right to not engage in trades or not to, if that is your draft strategy. For Brandon and myself (and others) this is a key element of strategy. If its too complex for you, then just draft when your pick comes up and dont worry about other people's moves.

False. It's neither. It's fantasy baseball, and it's supposed to be fun...

... and for that reason, I'm more or less with Josh on this one. The trades get under my skin, but I'm not going to rain on anyone's parade for making them. To each, their own. What I will say is this: if you've made so many trades that you can't keep your picks straight, maybe you should chill out for a little bit, because I'm sure that the rest of the league is struggling to keep up just as much - and that's affecting everyone's draft experience.

The draft board is a fucking mess with edited posts and banter, and it really pisses me off to get an email alert that someone has posted in the draft forum only to find it's more trade-related bullshit.

So let's go people. No more of this:

It isnt too hard to follow the draft. Just look to see who's pick it is next:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... OcVE#gid=0

Not rocket science. And if you are a person who doesn't trade picks, it should be even easier to follow cuz you will be picking from the same spot in odd rounds and even rounds (eg Mike should know by now that he will always be the 15th pick in odd rounds and 6th pick even rounds). Since every pick is posted with the round and pick number (eg 15.10) It should be abundantly clear for people to know when they pick.

The reason why the trade with Brandon had an error was because I was doing it from the top of my head while texting in bed so as to not wake up my wife. That's right. Trade picks that are so complex for certain people to follow despite the fact that they are clearly input into the google doc for all to see, were something I was able to basically have memorized and bust out in mad negotiations via text message exchanges at 12am. Mike and Josh, you really have really no reason to be annoyed. My wife, on the other hand, may have a bit more of an argument.

i agree with you on non draft pick posts on the draft board thread. save comments for the other threads peeps.
