2 hour rule vote for Round 25
I propose that beginning in Round 25 the time limit change to 2 hours. This will expedite the final rounds of the draft and ensure that it is finished by the time Yahoo comes up (mid-February). As with the 6 hour rule, if somebody gets passed, they may make their selection they can still make their selection as soon as they logon.

Re: 2 hour rule vote for Round 25
So far we have heard from 11 teams. What do the other 9 think?

The buttons to vote appear to be missing... I'm a "No" . Keep this casual, opening day is still 50 something days away and with a cap on moves likely won't see too much preseason waiver activity.

Re: 2 hour rule vote for Round 25
At first I was for this, but after more consideration, I am fine keeping things the way they are. I'm not in any hurry and we are still going to be done in time. Lets keep it the way it is.

Re: 2 hour rule vote for Round 25
The idea that "oh, in round 28 it doesn't matter if you get passed" is kinda bullshit. If I'm playing in a league with only 20 transactions, then roster construction is crucial. We're not just drafting cannon fodder here, we're carefully putting together rosters that we think will be productive throughout the season (at least some of us are). I don't understand the rush to be done. Great, we'll have our teams by mid-February and then we'll be sitting on our asses for a month and a half. Sounds like fun.

Re: 2 hour rule vote for Round 25
I'm reconsidering my vote a little. Maybe it was the fact that I woke up at 10am today, or maybe it was the fact that I took a two-hour roadtrip yesterday, both of which could result in being passed, but at the very least I feel a shorter limit needs to come with some other adjustments.
And, honestly, after reading tonies.gin's post, I feel like if this ruins the fun of it for just one person, then it's probably not worth it.

Re: 2 hour rule vote for Round 25
I tend to agree. What's the rush? While I do get pretty anxious when it gets close to my turn, it's been moving pretty quickly. I almost missed the 2 hour limit this morning....when I slept in till.... 9:45wsuguay wrote:I'm reconsidering my vote a little. I voted to support the 2 hour rule. And I'm also rescinding it (if that's cool) based on the reasoning above. There really is no hurry and I think getting passed actually does make a difference regardless of the round. We're essentially projecting free agent moves for the season. I realize this flipflopping probably makes me a flake, but whatever. I DO live in California.heggos wrote:The idea that "oh, in round 28 it doesn't matter if you get passed" is kinda bullshit. Re: 2 hour rule vote for Round 25
First off, I voted to speed it up because I am ready to not have to worry about whether I am up or not, however ultimately, it doesnt matter too much one way or the other. By my rough guess it is the difference between us finishing up in the next 3-5 days (if we use the 2hr time limit) and us finishing in 8-10 days if we stay on the current pace. Tough to really make an argument that one really shortens or extends the draft to any great extent.
With that said I think we should go with what the majority votes, and as of right now that is to speed up the process...
Just my two cents.

Re: 2 hour rule vote for Round 25
I would think to change the rule after the 'season' has started (draft included) we would need unanimous consent of all of the owners. As we do not have this the 2 hour rule vote has failed.
Re: 2 hour rule vote for Round 25
I'd just like to point out that in the time we've been trying to decide this, we've busted through almost 2 rounds since Thursday evening, thus averaging about 10 picks per day. Where are all those apathetic managers again, Amato?
This is a total non-issue. Keep the status quo.

sometimes a little dialogue about an issue can lead to awareness and action on that issue, a lesson our elected officials should consider
