inputting players from Round 1-26?

Post by YankeeManiac »

SMAN...I propose that rounds 1-26 be put into the computer and then beginning in round 27 everybody would add the player themselves in Yahoo upon making their selection. this would be key, because then owners can see who is still available when making their selection and would eliminate the "mispicks" of guys who have already gone. If we do this, we should change the numbers of transactions in this league to 24, since 4 picks would be used "drafting" players.

The manual labor to do this though is intimidating. What i was thinking, is if you do half, id be willing to do half also (you'd have to give me your password though, since you are now the commish of the league.

Another option is to give everyone 50 transactions and a deadline to pick their already selected players. (eg. everyone needs to go into yahoo and pick up your first 26players by Saturday. at that point, the free agent pool will be up to date and it will cut down on manual labor. 30 of the 50 transactions would be used "drafting" players, the other 20 would be for post draft.

There are surely other options as well. Regardless of what we choose, id be HIGHLY in favor of having the first 25-26 round inputted so that the free agent pool will become clear, in order to facilitate people's draft selections the final 4 rounds.

I think this is a good idea- spread the wealth so you two aren't stuck assigning 600 players to 20 teams. Let everyone pick up their own players- I'd enjoy it...

does this include traded players, or will we need to trade them/pick them up? I ask this cuz i noticed that Robinson Tejeda is on Free agents, although i drafted him (another possible reason is you may have entered a different Tejeda for me)

You will need to make your trades. And Wolfpack drafted Tejeda for you, so he's not on your team yet.

I can get into the league, but if I click on my team I get:

Your commissioner must enter your offline draft results and hit the 'Begin Season' button in order for your league to begin play

Same if I click on other teams...

No surprise here. I just need everyone to get into the league. As of last night, not everyone had signed up for the league. I can't begin the season before everyone signs up and the draft results are posted. You won't have access to your team until that point.

Just to be crystal clear, are we to pick up our teams on yahoo, or our draft picks? In teams that are in my situation, that is two very different set of players.

Cool. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing it incorrectly. There is still 1 team who hasn't signed on. Thx for organizing everything, btw.

I've already entered the picks "as they were drafted" through round 25 for 18 of the 20 teams. It was way easier for me to do it this way rather than figure out all of the trades. If you have made trades throughout the draft, you will have to make them through yahoo. I would suggest making the trades in the order listed on the spreadsheet at the bottom (I think I got them all, though I may have missed one - if so, let me know). Once all the picks have been entered, I will set the transaction level to 25. Picks 26-30 will then be picked by the individual managers via the FA pool. Those who have traded picks after round 25 can work it out with your trading partner who will make the selections. I would assume that if it's your pick, you would make your own selection as opposed to having someone else make the pick for you.
