Transaction cap in B.O.?
In auction leagues you have a budget to pull people from the free agent pool. We have nothing in place. What do you think? I know Dylan, Amato and Dan will be against it (the three owners to top 100 moves). But can we vote on that at the draft? I just think there should be a little more hesitation before picking up the 4th RP on a team that may be losing their closer.

Re: Transaction cap in B.O.?
Obviously it would be a much larger # than what we agreed to on W.B.O., but I think a cap wouldn't be a bad idea. It would be one thing if all 12 owners were racking up similar 100+ transactions over the course of the season. Not married to the idea, but would certainly be open to it...

Why, exactly? I was 2nd in transactions last year and came in 2nd to last place. Amato for the past few years (before last) has been in the top in transactions but wasn't finishing in the money. So I don't see a correlation between moves and standings. I often end up dropping quality players due to my over-activeness (Ryan Franklin, Aardsma, and Lind last year, to name a few). So give me some kind of argument before bringing it up for a vote.

Re: Transaction cap in B.O.?
agreed. you can make lots of transactions if you want, or none. noone is holding a gun to your head. If i want to make mundane transactions, i should be allowed to. its one of the things i enjoy about fantasy baseball. Its not like we are in an unlimited innings league or a weekly head to head league, where one would benefit from streaming players. Every position has a cap. There is no correlation between transactions and winning.WinterKryptonite wrote:Why, exactly? I was 2nd in transactions last year and came in 2nd to last place. If you are afraid that somebody who makes alot of transactions is gonna pick up the next big closer because of speculation, then you also need to consider that guys who pick up middle relievers speculatively also waive guys like Adam Lind in April to do so. It more than balances out.
So if you dont like seeing other people's transactions, then dont like at the transaction board. What's next? Limiting how many lineup changes one can make?

Re: Transaction cap in B.O.?
Again, why? I see no need to change this, as it hasn't been an issue or correlated to success in the league.

No transaction limit is what keeps you obsessed.

Re: Transaction cap in B.O.?
Let me play devil's advocate by asking a question: Why do you think other leagues charge a transaction fee per transaction (and, no, I'm not suggesting we apply this)?
