Which teams are completely picked over?

Post by Vogel »

Mike and I were just talking. We are about 420 picks into this thing. Most starters worth having on your team have been taken. I don't want to go in and figure this out, but I wonder how many teams' projected starting lineup, rotation and top 4 relief guys have been drafted.

I bet the Angels and Yankees are pretty picked over. Fan bias?

Defensive! That was aimed more at the Angels.

When Josh and I were talking about this, I wasn't thinking about the fanaticism of it all but more about what lineups are so stacked with players that are viable fantasy options that all the players have been scooped up. For example:

Yankees, Angels, Red Sox, Phillies - all gone.

Easily some of the best lineups out there. The Dodgers are almost gone. Belliard, anyone?

Just something fun to look at as the draft sloooows dowwwwnnn.

The Rangers are also a team that the lineup has been almost entirely picked through.

I find myself asking... 'Ok, who is left that might get at-bats?' -- then I go with that person.

Nope, him too.

But I still see plenty of potential for value out there. Which is why I can't understand this run on replacement-level catchers. Seriously, if you run your Gregg Zauns and Nick Hundleys out there, they probably won't help your counting stats enough to offset the hit you'll take with AVG, especially considering there are still some decent players still on the board. I'd just leave the slot empty, but, hey, you guys keep on doin' what you're doin'.

Can I interest anyone in a nice shade of Humberto Quintero? No? Howsabout this lovely late-model Omir Santos?

Being the man who picked Ronnie Belliard I did so simply because I think he'll likely play and those eligibilities are money in this league. Last year I could not find a starter at positions for weeks at a time. Covering your ass with guys like Belliard are way necessary. The position I was fucked in last year was Catcher actually, i started "gulp" Jason Kendall for like a month. The whole Dodgers lineup is gone. I have a lot of there scraps, Belliard, Padilla, Sherrill. I know Hong Chi got swooped. They might be the 4th RP away from having the whole lineup gone. Troncoso anyone!

Apparently Seattle will never be picked over because they just keep signing players. One surefire way to win the AL West is to put an extra 7 or 8 defenders on the field at all times. I should have gone after King Felix...
