Here we go with tooting- Russell Branyan was offered an incentive laden contract with the Florida Marlins, where he would most likely be the starting 1B. If that comes to fruition, I just got 30+ HRs, and decent RBI #s in the 22nd round. He's obviously a flawed player who is almost guaranteed to be hitting in the .230-.240's, but still- pick #423!

We've heard conflicting reports this week whether the Marlins actually offered him a one-year, incentive-laden contract, but this should sufficiently snuff out the possibility. The 34-year-old Branyan hoped to receive a three-year deal this winter, but he clearly overplayed his hand off a career-season."

Branyangate has been quite disappointing- I think he stills lands a job where he's getting regular at bats and remains great value in the 22nd round.

My new toot is Aroldis Chapman- Cuban lefty who throws 100 MPH- if he puts it all together (Mario Soto is a pretty good pitching coach), this will have been a big-time pick up in round 23rd.

I wanted him as well, I thought he had been drafted. Mike is probably pissed at me, he asked a couple of times. I always replied, oh he's totally gone, he went like 5-6 rounds ago.

This is quite likely, I agree. But this guy's ceiling is so high, and he's such a lottery ticket of a pick, that I was more than happy to roll the dice with him in the 23rd.

No, I'm not pissed. I've fallen into the mindset of taking the everyday players, especially because, in the case of injuries, having a bench full of minor leaguers won't get you as far in a league this deep.

It's clear that Scrantonicity wanted him. He probably photoshopped that rookie card rounds ago. Well done, sir.
