I sadly came to this same conclusion earlier this weekend. It will work out fine, and I don't regret any of my picks, but having Mcab at 3B would have been pretty great.

And a crummy 5th rounder for me.

IF he gets the closing gig, that is. But yeah, could work out well.

19.7 Matt Holliday, OF, STL
I know he's old and stuff, but this is too damn late.

No one, unfortunately, has the answers as to how Yahoo rosters players eligibility. Which is kind of crazy. But yeah, if you have Papi, grab a 1B for your bench, and be aware that you might need to start the season with said back up in your lineup. We will not be able to adjust position eligibility as a league.
Actually, it's pretty straightforward:

https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN6766.html

The only time when we don't know is if it's a rookie who has no MLB experience (i.e. Sano was SS-eligible last year for some reason, but going forward his eligibility will be determined by the previous season, unless and until he earns eligibility at a new position).

Sorry, not trying to be unnecessarily argumentative here, but I don't think the "Player Criteria" section was straightforward at all.

"At the beginning of the fantasy baseball season, yahoo sports placed all players into positions, based partially on information from official MLB rosters but also drawing from past experience."

Ok, so is Papi first base eligible in 2016?

(Heggos, I hope it's clear that I'm calling out yahoo for not being clear, rather than calling you out for posting this.)

Fair enough. But in 12 or so years playing on Yahoo, I've NEVER seen an example where the 5 GS/10 GP from previous season was not used to determine following season eligibility.

In any case, Yahoo league page is up and yes, Papi is 1B eligible.

Nice. Didn't know the league site was active. Thanks.

Haha. Sorry about that. The pics were meant to be for everyone's enjoyment and is a customary practice of the Giant Knockers franchise. However it only requires one person to be offended for something to be considered offensive so I will stop that tradition. I already waste enough time finding the pictures. Can't waste any more re sizing them..

haha, don't mind the fully clothed ones as much. Just don't want any of my co-workers to get the wrong idea if they happen to glance over at my screen.

Also offensive: Plouffe's comically bad tat. (It took me a minute to realize that it didn't say "powerbut").
