Baseball Obsession (Keeper League)

Post by WinterKryptonite »

Am I correct in remembering that we are not picking the draft order until after keepers are declared this year? When are we drafting?

I also propose that we up the league fee to 200 dollars. I was talking to a guy who is in a 500 dollar league and he didn't seem nearly as knowledgeable as anyone in our league. And this is coming from the dude who came in second to last place this year.

You are correct. Keepers will be declared first by all teams, followed by the picking of the draft order. As of right now, I am available all weekends in the March/April timeframe leading up to the draft.

I also think that this board is a better way to discuss offseason issues for the keeper league than via email.

I'd like to vote to keep the draft in Santa Barbara. It's tough getting on the road on the weekends with a little guy. Plus, I think it's a great central location. Differing opinions/thoughts?

I'm available for any draft site that we can all agree on. One of the best parts of this league is having a live, in person draft.

Wherever the draft is, I can make it happen, I'd prefer a 5 hour drive or less from LA area .

Point of Interest, I'd imagine there's gotta be a Recine bachelor fiesta of some sort happening about that time. Make the draft part of that?

If it's live, let's do it in the Bay Area this time. I am also in favor of doing a "pseudo-live" draft where we all have laptops and do it on Yahoo's platform. This would allow us to have the feeling of a live draft with the time-frame and amenities of Yahoo's system, plus whoever can't make it can just go online from home.

It's really my preference to draft live (obviously), and i don't know if that's going to happen in SF. Can't completely write it off (going up to SF), but it would be a long-shot. Seems like a middle location for all our Southern Cali teams and NorCal teams makes the most sense.

I tend to agree with Dylan. I'd love to come down to SB for a weekend, but realistically with Amato's bachelor party/wedding near the draft date I anticipate having to take days off around there and probably can't take the necessary time off for the trip down to SB.

We could also do a Bay Area group and a So-Cal group with live video feed (2 groups, but still live draft).

This is a cool idea. Much better than just chilling at the house on yahoo.

Can we start talking dates? I am in another keeper league and everyone else has agreed to fly to Arizona (Ug) to attend a live draft on Saturday March 13th. Can I make a very early request to not have it on this date. Also since I am a SB local I would definitlely also prefer a SoCal venue. Preferably SB of course but LA area could work well too.

i'll send out an email in the next few days to discuss possible dates for the draft, location/ format options, fee options, and to discuss other issues as well. It would be great to have a date locks down within the next few weeks so we can all plan accordingly.

What works best for people, march 6 or march 13 weekends?
