Commisioner and Rules

Post by YankeeManiac »

So here's the scoop:

I'm gonna act as commisioner as we get this thing up and running. After the 3rd round of the draft, Dylan will take over as the commisioner.

We currently have 18 teams. Tonight at 9pm I will conduct and post a draft order lottery (names in a hat).

Thye draft will start on Dec 26 at 1pm Pacific.

Based upon the mixed input, Im gonna rule that the first 15 rounds will be 6 hours, the next 10 rounds will be 4 hours. The final 5 rounds will be 2 hours. This seems to be the fair compromise. There are so many variations of this that are possible, and im sure that every proposal would have its supporters and opponents. With the draft just a few days away, (and everyone super-busy Im sure), let's go with this and plan our drafts accordingly.

Dylan will post info about where to send league fees. Please send them to him by April 1.

I appreciate you taking the initiative and helping to get the part started but I really think it is weird that we cannot just make it a 6 hour rule across the board. It does not affect me too much, but sometimes as a CPS worker I am in the field on an immediate/detain for 5-6 hours. We are starting on December 26th, so why are we rushing? With a 6 hour rule we will be done weeks before the season starts. I also saw others like Wilson and WSUGuay have conflicting schedules, I think this needs to be a vote. I know you have the patience of a Steinbrenner, and I fully admit that it can drag at times, but I think the goal is to be able to do a little research and make your pick without too much worry of running out of time. I am willing to go with whatever majority wants though.

if somebody wants to take the initiative to get a vote going, get me 9 league members who prefer straight 6 hours every round and it is ratified. however in talking to a number of peeps in this league, rounds 20-30 last year were trachereously long, thus the compromise i posted above.

I just heard back from the bank that they have accepted our offer, and we will soon be home owners. My next 2 weeks were already gonna be super busy, but now we have Escrow to worry about. Needless to say, I wont have much time for discussion and such. So if someone wants to take the bull by the horns regarding getting a majority vote going, then please go for it. My vote is NO for a straight 6 hour time limit, ultimately a 4 hour limit would be my ideal with compromises down from that time frame following. I know of at least 3 other people who will also likely be hardline NOs, so good luck getting a majority.

Thanks chris, and my condolences to you that your man love is now off the market.

(Between me and you, I think you would have made a much better groomsman at the Swisher wedding than Lance Bass. Why are they even friends?)
