By the time he is with ya in 2014, he will fit the Dodger's "former star in the midst statistical regression that new team is willing to overspend for in hopes of player returning to former glory, so lets keep our fingers crossed" mold perfectly.
What player have the Dodger signed or even traded for for that will be past there age prime during there contract? I keep hearing this argument and seeing nothing that suggests it's true. There is an argument to be made about some of the dollar figures but I really don't see the over the hill factor at all, with the exception maybe of Crawford. Here is ever major signing or trade acquired guy under the new regime (included Kemp because McCourt had to sign him to sell the team):

Kemp - 28, Signed until 35
Grienke - 29, Signed until 34
Adrian Gonzalez - 30, Signed until 35
Ethier - 30, Signed until 35
Hanley - 29, Signed until 31
Beckett - 32, Signed until 34
Crawford - 31, Signed until 36
League - 29, Signed until 32
Puig - 22, Signed until 28
Ryu - 27, signed until 33

No guy signed past 36, there is no comparison to be made to the contracts of Pujols, Arod, Jeter and the sorts that were going to take them into there 40's.

Thank you Freeze. I wanted to start the argument, but didn't have the energy.

Although he did say in the midst of a statistical regression, not over the hill or past their prime age.

Word. Ages are fine. Stats trending down is the cautionary sitch. If they trend back up, they will be set as they are in the middle of their careers. Just gotta keep those fingers crossed they bounce back to superstar statuses.

They had undeniably similar seasons last year. And Headley has position scarcity, which is awesome. But Jones has had a more progressive career rise that I feel provides a little more confidence. Headley has been a good player who had a great year last year. Kind of has the look of a potential career year for Headley, where we've seen this coming from Jones. But with Petco bringing in the fences, he's a great gamble to repeat. My 2 cents on the topic.

On a sidenote, I've added acquired picks next to their respective teams in the first post of the draft thread. Hopefully it will be helpful if you are unclear whether you are up or not.

I am also changing the team name on the picks that are traded and adding a note in the 4th column of the google doc.

Wait--why is Polanco's Head being passed? Doesn't he have until 11:24am for his pick?

No- if the pick before is before 9pm pacific, then the window six hours after that point. Davis drafted at 7:24 PM, thus Polanco's window closed at 1:24 AM.

I agonized between Moore and Halladay. Literally had Moore typed in, with a trademark baseball card copied in. And then I realized I had no Phillies on my team. And Roy Freaking Halladay was on the board in the 5th round of an 18 team league.

Nice pick on Moore!
