Yeah, I was choosing between him & Scherzer. Latos usually owns the Giants, so I didn't really want that on my conscience.Vogel wrote:Scrantonicity wrote:5.12 Attack of Scrantonicity selects Mat Latos, SP, SD

First, I think Davis could have gotten more here, maybe by taking Feliz himself and trading him. I'm not a huge fan of these pick swap trades, especially during a slow day that hasn't seen a lot of movement.
The Feliz pick is an alright one, he would have gone soon, and he'll probably be the closer (but that's no sure thing). Hell, Marmol may not close the whole year now that Kerry Wood is back in a Cubs uniform. Gotta love drafting closers in the first week of January.
I'm not sure I understand the issue with the dealing of picks- they certainly don't slow things up on my end. Took Davis and I about 5 minutes to agree on a fair swap. As far as valuing the picks, I think the thinking is, if you aren't locked in on any particular player, then what's the harm in trading down a couple of spots and getting future value in upcoming rounds. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I foresaw a run on closers, and didn't want to end with F-Rod as my #1 RPing option. Dealing a future pick to assure I got a guy I wanted (Feliz) seemed like a worthwhile move.wsuguay wrote:Sorry, I probably shouldn't have used only one word when I was thinking a few things.

That is a nice combo. Ellsbury alone will steal 60. I think I still have slight edge with my 3 speaking strictly steals, but not by much.Vogel wrote:Ichiro and Ellsbury.
